One of the state’s fastest growing regions is getting better bus services that will boost reliability, ease crowding and make it simpler for passengers to connect with Metro services.
As part of the NSW Government’s $452 million commitment in the 2024/25 budget to improve bus services across the state, popular bus route 665 will be upgraded to become part of the All Day Frequent Network (ADFN).
For the first time, route 665, which operates along the North West Transitway between Rouse Hill and Parramatta, will now operate every 10 minutes or better during the day and every 20 minutes or better in the early morning and late evening, seven days a week.
The route will also operate 24 hours on Friday and Saturday nights, supporting late night travel, and will have higher capacity buses operating during peak periods to better match passenger demand. The bus services boost includes multiple bus routes receiving additional services, particularly during peak times and weekends to improve connectivity to Metro services, including route 605 and 643.
The changes will be implemented from Sunday 30 November.
Member for Parramatta Donna Davis said: “A big win for the North West, Route 665 is now part of the All Day Frequent Network, which means more services, more often. “This means the 665 every 10 minutes, seven days a week, plus new 24-hour services on weekends. It strengthens connections to the Metro, reduces crowding, and gives people the flexibility to travel when they need to. “This investment delivers exactly what this community needs – more services, more often.”
Member for Riverstone Warren Kirby said:
“We’re adding more high-capacity buses, increasing frequency and supporting late night travel with these changes.
“These targeted changes are a step towards ensuring public transport availability is in step with demand, and we are working towards building better communities for all of us.
“Our priority is getting more buses on the road in the areas they’re most needed, which is what these changes do.”
