EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST OPEN FOR FLOORSPACE WITHIN BRADFIELD CITY CENTRE

Businesses, universities, innovative startups and research institutions are being encouraged to join Japanese giant Hitachi and the CSIRO at the heart of Bradfield City Centre.

Expressions of interest for floorspace within Bradfield City Centre are now open as progress on the development of the city gathers pace. The opportunities now available include:

 An Expression of Interest for experienced operators of incubators, accelerators and co-working spaces to help establish an Advanced Industry Hub for start-ups and businesses. The Hub will be inside the First Building; and

 Tenancy opportunities for universities, research institutions and other innovative businesses. The opportunities include up to 6,000sqm of floorspace in the Advanced Manufacturing Research Facility (AMRF) and up to 25,000sqm of floorspace in planned buildings 4 and 5, next to the AMRF.

Minister for Enterprise, Investment and Trade Alister Henskens said the NSW Liberal and Nationals Government is fostering a thriving advanced manufacturing industry that will turbocharge the broader Aerotropolis and fast track economic prosperity across Western Sydney.

“Bradfield City Centre is on the doorstep of the Western Sydney International Airport and will be one of the country’s most iconic, exciting and innovative cities,” Mr Henskens said.

“It will support around 17,600 jobs and help deliver 200,000 jobs across the broader Parkland City – these will be great jobs, closer to home for Western Sydney communities.

“This EOI process is another step towards delivering this game changing development which will help underpin the economic prosperity of Western Sydney for generations to come.”

The Advanced Industry Hub will be located in up to 250sqm of office floorspace and play a key role in connecting start-ups to shared equipment and resources in the AMRF where they can develop, design and test new products and processes.

The tenancy opportunities offer significant flexibility, allowing for multiple smaller tenancies, larger floorplates for established businesses or education facilities. Successful parties will gain access to high-quality offices, education facilities, short-term workspaces and labs or cleanrooms.

Western Parkland City Authority Chair Jennifer Westacott said these processes were important to set the groundwork for a thriving, industry-led city centre.

“We’ve fundamentally shifted away from old processes used for building cities, where homes were developed before transport, services and jobs. Instead, we’re focused on jobs-led growth and the delivery of services and infrastructure aligned with that growth,” Ms Westacott said.

“This will ensure we can truly deliver a city centre that becomes a social, economic and environmental powerhouse delivering new industries and jobs to improve the lives of people in Western Sydney and all of Australia.”
