Construction Begins on New South Windsor Ambulance Station

Construction has commenced on a new ambulance station at South Windsor, providing additional capacity for paramedics serving communities across the Hawkesbury.

The purpose-built station at 7–11 Acacia Close is being delivered through the NSW Government’s $615.5 million NSW Ambulance Infrastructure Program and is expected to be completed in late 2027.

New Base for Hawkesbury Paramedics

The new station will include 10 enclosed ambulance vehicle bays, including a dedicated wash bay, along with administration areas, staff amenities, a gym, meeting and training spaces, logistics and storage facilities and on-site parking.

NSW Ambulance selected the South Windsor site following service planning that considered Triple Zero demand, ambulance response requirements and access to the surrounding road network.

The location has connections to roads including Fairey Road, Argyle Street, Macquarie Street and Hawkesbury Valley Way.

Construction Now Underway

Site establishment works are underway, with activity expected to increase over the coming months.

Mettle Projects has been appointed as the building contractor following completion of the planning approval process and a competitive tender.

Construction work will include site preparation, utility works, earthworks and the main building works. Current project information lists standard construction hours of 7am to 6pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.

Part of 30-Station Infrastructure Program

South Windsor is one of 30 new ambulance stations being delivered under the broader NSW Ambulance Infrastructure Program.

The program covers new facilities across Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Hunter and Illawarra regions, with the aim of improving geographic coverage and providing updated facilities for paramedics.

Other Western Sydney projects include ambulance infrastructure at Prestons, Prairiewood, Carlingford and Glendenning.

The South Windsor station is scheduled to reach construction completion in late 2027, with operational arrangements to be confirmed as the project progresses.
