LABOR’S MANIFESTO IS ALL PROMISE, NO PLAN

Today’s Labor election manifesto speech delivered by Chris Minns was heavy in rhetoric but as usual, light on details and once again failed to deliver a plan for NSW.

The only clear fact to emerge from his speech is that the people of NSW will be financially worse off under a potential Labor government, in addition to the risks to the economy.

He has now opposed the Liberal and Nationals short, medium and long-term plans to modernise the energy network.

Today he opposed the Liberal and Nationals Energy Bill Saver payment of $250 for households and medium-term savings of up to $400.

Chris Minns today opposed this cost of living relief for the people of NSW.

He has previously committed to nationalising energy supply, putting $32 billion of private investment at risk as he rips up the state’s energy transition roadmap. This is a lights out policy that will drive up energy bills.

Governance isn’t spending a minute in a hospital for a social media video, it isn’t organising cameras for a Bondi photoshoot with a Premier from a minor state, it isn’t making sweeping and misleading motherhood statements to match whichever shifting position he has on a given day.

Good governance requires a long-term plan for the people of NSW including competent economic management and delivery of infrastructure. It also requires competence that reduces risk for the state and its residents. Labor is risk.

Today’s Labor manifesto contained:

 No economic plan

 No cost of living plan

 No plan to reduce energy prices

 No plan for toll relief

 No plan for Bankstown Hospital

 No plan for additional GP urgent care clinics

 No reference to gambling reform

 No reference to pharmacy reform

 No plan to build any new roads

 No plan for any new transport infrastructure

 No plan to reduce taxes or red tape

NSW Labor is all promise, no plan.

As every household in NSW could explain to the Sussex Street Labor operators coming up with Labor’s focus group-driven manifesto: it takes hard work to deliver a better NSW.

Clever slogans and slick photos don’t pay the bills.

NSW can’t afford to stall or go backwards which it would do under Labor.

Only the Liberal and Nationals can be trusted to deliver a long-term plan to keep NSW moving forward.
