NSW reported 3057 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, a new daily record for the state. It marks a steep increase from Monday, when the state reported 2501 cases.
The number of people in hospital jumped from 261 to 284, while the number of people in intensive care increased from 33 to 39. There were two deaths overnight.
