NSW manufacturers will receive support to adopt cutting-edge technologies, boost productivity and create the jobs of the future under a new $6 million NSW Government initiative.
Applications are now open for the first stage of the Innovative Manufacturing Adoption Fund, designed to help local manufacturers strengthen capability, adopt new technologies and compete in higher-value domestic and global markets.
The fund will be delivered in two stages.
Stage 1 – Discovery and Feasibility
Stage 1 is now open, with $1 million available through a competitive grant program.
Grants of between $10,000 and $50,000 are available to help manufacturers assess new technologies and manufacturing capabilities. Eligible projects may include feasibility studies, business case development, pilot projects, process testing, equipment assessments and certification activities.
Stage 2 – Implementation
Stage 2 is expected to open in early 2027 and will provide $5 million in competitive funding to help manufacturers implement new technologies and scale their operations.
The fund is open to manufacturers operating in NSW across sectors including construction, clean energy, transport, defence and aerospace, health and medtech manufacturing.
It supports the local manufacturing objectives of the NSW Industry Policy and NSW Innovation Blueprint, while complementing other initiatives aimed at strengthening advanced manufacturing capability across the state.
Applications for Stage 1 close at 5pm on 6 October 2026, or earlier if available funding is fully allocated.
Minister for Domestic Manufacturing and Government Procurement Courtney Houssos said the fund would help local manufacturers adopt innovation and technology while strengthening jobs and supply chains.
Minister for Industry and Trade Anoulack Chanthivong said the program was designed to help NSW manufacturers turn new ideas into practical technology adoption and improve productivity and competitiveness.
