Applications have opened for a new $500,000 NSW grant program aimed at helping women and girls feel safer and more confident while running in their communities.
The Run My Way Grant Program will provide between $5,000 and $100,000 to eligible running organisations, clubs, associations and sole traders delivering recreational, social, fitness or competitive running activities.
Projects may focus on practical initiatives that improve safety, participation and social connection for women, girls and gender-diverse runners.
The program follows NSW Government research showing safety remains a major barrier to running. Around 95 per cent of women surveyed said safety influenced when and how they ran, 70 per cent had felt unsafe while running and 50 per cent reported experiencing harassment.
Applicants may submit up to two proposals, although the total funding awarded to an applicant cannot exceed $100,000. Applications will be assessed competitively on eligibility and merit rather than awarded automatically.
Run My Way forms part of a $1.3 million multi-year partnership between Transport for NSW and the Office of Sport under the broader Safer Cities Program.
Applications close on Monday, 14 September 2026.
