NSW reports 1360 new local cases, one death as restrictions ease

NSW today reports 1360 new locally acquired coronavirus cases and one death.

The state is also dramatically winding back health restrictions today, including giving unvaccinated people the same freedoms as the fully vaccinated, ending mask mandates except for on public transport and at airports, and winding back QR check-ins to high-risk settings.

However, only 166 people are in hospital with COVID-19, including 24 in intensive care.

NSW has not been over the 1000-local case mark since late September as the delta outbreak was beginning to wind down. The state’s peak was 1599 local cases on September 11.
