NSW records 633 new cases

NSW has seen a huge increase in cases overnight, reporting a new daily record of 633 cases.

There are at least 62 of those that were infectious in the community during that time and 447 remain under investigation.

“The data shows we haven’t seen the worse of it,” Premier Gladys Berejiklian says.

The deaths include a man in his late 60s who was in Liverpool Hospital who wasn’t vaccinated and two males in their late 70s who both passed away at Nepean Hospital.

One was vaccinated and one only received one dose of vaccine.

Out of the 633 new cases in NSW 550 were in western and south-western Sydney.

“That continues to be a challenge,” Premier Gladys Berejiklian says.

She calls out suburbs of Merrylands, Guilford, Auburn, Greenacre, St Marys and Strathfield.

“These are the suburbs of most concern where we’re continuing to see an escalation of cases.”
