Australian shares closed at a new record high on Thursday, with earnings season beginning to get underway.
The S&P/ASX 200 Index rose 7.9 points, or 0.1 per cent, to 7511.1, its highest close on record.
Pinnacle Investment Management shares soared 9 per cent to $14.85 after net profit rose 108 per cent in the 2021 financial year.
NIB Holdings firmed 3.1 per cent to $7.43, Nuix added 2.8 per cent to $2.62 and James Hardie Industries advanced 2.5 per cent to $47.36.
Nick Scali closed 0.1 per cent lower at $12.31 despite beating its profit guidance.
Nickel Mines declined 3.5 per cent to $1.10, Fortescue Metals Group slid 3.4 per cent to $23.27 and Champion Iron dropped 3.3 per cent to $6.95.
