Andrews hopes to downgrade more NSW zones

Victoria hopes to further downgrade more NSW zones in its coronavirus traffic light system.

Premier Daniel Andrews hopes by Friday afternoon there are no more red zones in NSW and most of the state is green.

“I’m very confident that tomorrow, there will be changes to the settings,” the premier said on Thursday.

Victoria’s active coronavirus cases have dropped below 30, with three new infections in hotel quarantine.

But he added some NSW areas could remain orange zones.

Victoria now has 27 active cases – none of them local.

Wednesday marked the end of the Black Rock restaurant cluster that sparked before Christmas, with the last local active case in Victoria.

Victoria now has had 22 consecutive days without any new local cases.

Australian Open players are also about to start coming out of their hotel quarantines.

Testing numbers are up, with 14,494 results in the 24 hours to midnight on Wednesday.
