Origin cites weather as retail sales dip

Origin Energy’s retail electricity and gas sales dipped in the past financial year, with the power generator and provider citing lower usage and milder weather.

Retail electricity sales volumes fell two per cent in the 12 months to June 30 and retail gas sales volumes fell four per cent, although business gas sales volumes rose five per cent and revenue from Australia Pacific liquefied natural gas increased 36 per cent thanks to higher effective commodity prices.

Origin Energy is scheduled to announce its audited full-year results to the ASX on August 22.
