From award-winning pizza and Indian street food to Tibetan momos, Indonesian laksa and Lebanese pastries, Parramatta is serving up a world of flavours this spring as EAT Parramatta returns from 7 September to 18 October 2026.
Home to one of Australia’s most multicultural communities, Parramatta has emerged as a global culinary hot spot, recently recognised by Condé Nast Traveller as one of the world’s must-visit dining destinations for 2026.
Parramatta’s growing food scene reflects the diversity of its community, where 56 per cent of residents speak a language other than English at home.
City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said Parramatta’s greatest culinary strength is its authenticity.
“Our food story is a reflection of our community and the people behind these dishes bring generations of culture, tradition and passion to the table, creating experiences you simply can’t find anywhere else,” Cr Zaiter said.
“People travel across Sydney to discover Parramatta’s food scene because it offers an incredible mix of culture, flavour and value.
“That appeal is translating into real economic benefits for our City with visitor spending reaching $1.9 billion, up 5.3 per cent from last year, while restaurant spending has grown by 3.9 per cent.”
The campaign will spotlight a diverse range of local venues, including:
- delightful treats at Watch Your Fingers;
- Mongolian favourites at Mongol Shop Café;
- Vietnamese dishes at Tam Tam;
- Indian street food at Chatkazz; and
- authentic Hong Kong cuisine at Fishboy Private Kitchen.
“There aren’t many places where you can start your day with European-inspired breakfast, enjoy South Asian flavours for lunch and finish with Mediterranean cuisine for dinner, all on the same street,” Cr Zaiter said.
This year’s EAT Parramatta campaign builds on the city’s growing reputation as a dining destination as Australians continue to dine out in increasing numbers.
OpenTable’s 2026 Dining Trends Report found dining out in Australia increased 17 per cent year-on-year in 2025, while average spending rose 15 per cent.
Parramatta’s international recognition has also grown in 2026. Condé Nast Traveller included the city in its Best Places to Eat in 2026, highlighting its multicultural food scene and the concentration of restaurants across Parramatta and nearby Harris Park.
Visitors can discover featured venues, food trails and local favourites through EAT Parramatta until 18 October 2026.
