Artists from all backgrounds are being encouraged to submit their expression of interest (EOI) to exhibit their work at the 2026 Parramatta Lanes festival.
EOIs for outdoor performance and art installations are now open, including a new commission opportunity for two emerging artists to design inflatable artworks.
City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said the EOI gives artists the chance to build their profile at one of Sydney’s largest festivals.
“Global cities are home to great public art and Parramatta is no exception,” Cr Zaiter said.
“We want artists to think outside the square and help make this year’s Parramatta Lanes the best yet.
“As the emerging home to festivals, sports and entertainment, Parramatta is coming into its own and our public art at Lanes is second to none.”
With more than 330,000 people visiting Parramatta Lanes last year, artists have the opportunity to gain significant exposure and connect to large and diverse audiences.
“There is a huge footprint at Lanes each year so we want submissions that are larger than life and will be a talking point for festival visitors,” Cr Zaiter said.
“You don’t need to be an established name to apply – Parramatta Lanes is about discovering new voices and giving emerging artists the confidence to think big.”
The inflatable artwork commissions have been funded by the NSW Government through Create NSW.
