DESTINATION CENTRAL STATION – A NEW PLACE TO SHOP, DINE AND EXPLORE

The area surrounding Central Station will be transformed into a vibrant new precinct with art, restaurants, bars and shops as part of the revitalisation of Sydney’s CBD.

Minister for Infrastructure, Cities and Active Transport Rob Stokes said Eddy Avenue and Eddy Avenue Plaza would soon be transformed into an exciting place for the community which would be known as ‘EDDY’.

“Central Station will no longer be just a thoroughfare, instead it will become its own destination, a dining and entertainment precinct which rivals the likes of Parramatta’s Eat Street or Chippendale’s Spice Alley,” Mr Stokes said.

“The rebranded EDDY marks a new era for the Tech Central Precinct as it becomes a world-class interchange with innovative and diverse businesses that attracts thousands of new jobs to the CBD.

The Transport Asset Holding Entity (TAHE) is now seeking tenants to take up the high-quality and carefully curated retail, commercial and community opportunities.

Minister for Enterprise, Investment and Trade Stuart Ayres said that EDDY is part of Central Station’s renewal project with a vision to make Sydney’s Central Station a destination that rivals other global cities like New York or Tokyo.

“The reimagining of the precinct is part of the NSW Government’s commitment to revitalise the CBD and drive foot traffic which supports businesses as they recover from the pandemic.”

“We expect to be able to announce an opening date within the coming weeks as we forge ahead with this project which will bring new life to the area surrounding Central Station.”

Eddy Avenue is located inside the 24-hectare Central Precinct, at the northern side of Central Station and is owned by TAHE who are funding this important initiative.
