Australia is expected to announce within 48 hours a program to give elderly and vulnerable Australians a fourth COVID-19 vaccine.
“I’m expecting to get the advice over the course of today and will consider it and have more to say, probably, in the next 48 hours,” Health Minister Greg Hunt told reporters in Melbourne.
“We’ve foreshadowed that a fourth dose, most likely for seniors and for some who are immunocompromised, is under consideration.”
He also said 26 Australians required ventilation because of COVID-19 as of Wednesday. Cumulatively, Australian hospitals enough ventilators for 7500 people.
