NSW records 11,201 cases; hospitalisations jump

NSW posted a record 11,201 new COVID-19 infections on Wednesday and three people died from the virus overnight.

Of the 158,000 tests conducted yesterday, 7.1 per cent yielded a positive result, which is a record for the state.

The number of people in hospital jumped to 625 from 557, while the number of people in intensive care increased to 61 from 60.
