Unvaccinated Victorians will not enjoy the same freedoms as their fully jabbed counterparts until “well into 2022”, Premier Daniel Andrews say.
“This will be well into 2022,” he says on when unvaccinated people can do activities such as go to the pub or major sporting events.
“Then we’re going to get into booster issues that won’t be your first and second dose, it will be, have you had your third?
“Then the other issue will be, well, who knows what [other] variant is coming?”
He says he would also “really appreciate some clarity” from the federal government on whether booster shots will be rolled out and when, to enable the state to “seamlessly move” from offering earlier jabs in state vaccine hubs to offering the third doses.
He also clarifies that all staff working at hospitality venues when they reopen on Friday must be fully vaccinated, after some confusion from the industry about whether one jab would suffice at first.
