Annastacia Palaszczuk says the home quarantine trial for returning Queenslanders will start on Monday.
“This is something we have been working on for a while,” she says.
The trial for 1000 people will be only for fully vaccinated returning Queenslanders who live in Brisbane.
“We’ll do the first thousand and if that works we’ll do more,” she says.
“The big onus is on people complying. If people comply, it will be all systems go to extend that.”
Palaszczuk says she wants to boost vaccination rates before the next delta outbreak in Queensland.
She is concerned about Logan, Beaudesert and the Gold Coast – regions where vaccination rates are lower than Brisbane, which has achieved a first-dose rate of 70 per cent.
