ACT records 12 new cases

The ACT has recorded 12 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, after 23 recorded on Wednesday.

Of the new cases, six are linked and six are under investigation. At least 4 were in quarantine in their entire infectious period.

Chief Minister Andrew Barr says 13 people are in hospital in Canberra, including four in intensive care and two requiring ventilation.

The new person on ventilation is a man in his 20s with no underlying health conditions.

Barr said ACT residents 75-79 years have become the first age cohort in Australia to pass the 80 per cent threshold for full vaccinations.
