NSW has recorded 1116 cases in the 24 hours to 8pm on Wednesday, down from 1168 reported on Tuesday.
Four deaths were reported, all women in their 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s.
The state had 148,000 people vaccinated yesterday.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian says that the state’s record vaccination rates mean it expects to reach 70 per cent double doses by mid-October as opposed to the end of October. It expects to reach 80 per cent in November.
There are 917 COVID-19 cases admitted to hospital in NSW, up from 871, and 150 people are in intensive care – 66 who require ventilation.
All the deaths in NSW today were from southwest or western Sydney and had underlying health conditions. None were vaccinated.
