Andrew Barr says Canberra’s lockdown is going to continue until at least September 2, which will be three weeks of stay-at-home restrictions in the capital.
Barr says the community can expect a gentle, week-by-week easing of restrictions as lockdown ends.
He says vaccination rates are critical to getting back to normal.
Barr wants the national vaccination targets to include everyone aged 12 and above.
“I know national cabinet will be discussing the vaccination program for 12 to 15-year-olds,” he says.
“I anticipate it will be every state and territory’s goal to vaccinate as many 12 to 15-year-olds as possible.“
Barr says the difference from including kids in the vaccine targets will be about three weeks.
