NSW reported a record 356 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, said the state’s health department.
Of the new cases 102 were in isolation throughout their infectious period and 40 cases were in isolation for part of their infectious period.
57 cases were infectious in the community, and the isolation status of 157 cases remains under investigation.
The number of people in hospital climbed to 357 from 349, while the number of people in intensive care fell to 60 from 67.
