Afterpay signs with UK’s Marks and Spencer

Afterpay has increased its presence in the UK’s buy now, pay later market by signing up with historic clothing and food retailer Marks and Spencer.

M&S says customers will be able to use Clearpay, the name under which Afterpay trades in the UK, on purchases over 30 pounds ($A56.25) from mid November.

Already in the UK with retailers including Foot Locker and Urban Outfitters, Afterpay has soared on the ASX since debuting at $2.07 in 2017 and – despite a recent dip – was worth $29.10 per share before the start of trade on Wednesday.
