Australian plus-size women’s clothing brand City Chic is eyeing the US market, flagging plans to acquire assets from a bankrupt like-for-like seller.
City Chic on Friday announced it has been nominated as the opening bidder for Avenue’s e-commerce assets, including its well-established customer database and inventory, after the US-based retailer filed for bankruptcy last month.
The ASX-listed company’s lead-off offer for the auction, to be held in early October, has been set at $US10 million ($A14.8 million).
