Climate change a ‘priority’ for Suncorp

Suncorp chair Christine McLoughlin is supporting calls for corporations to pull their weight to address climate change, insisting it makes good environmental and business sense.

Responding to last week’s global climate strikes, where three million people rallied to demand action from governments and businesses, Ms McLoughlin told shareholders the company considers tackling the issue a “high priority”.

“Understanding weather change and climate risk and how this impacts our customers and our business makes not only good environmental sense but helps us protect and enhance shareholder value and makes good business sense,” Ms McLoughlin told Suncorp’s AGM in Brisbane on Thursday.
