Seek triples full-year profit to $180m

Online jobs listing giant Seek says it has more than tripled its full-year profit despite its Australian platform being hit by a “weak” number of ads in the past six months.

The company posted a full-year net profit of $180.3m in the year to June 30 compared with $52.2 million in the previous corresponding period and said revenue rose 18 per cent to $1.54 billion.

“These results were achieved despite a backdrop of weaker macro conditions and strong competition,” Seek chief executive Andrew Bassat said as the company declared an unchanged fully franked final dividend of 22 cents.
