Domino’s buys up troubled Danish operation

Domino’s Pizza has agreed to pay $4 million for the brand’s Danish franchise after the region’s local operator went into administration.

ASX-listed Domino’s Pizza Enterprises says it will pay 2.5 million euros ($3.95 million) for the Danish stores, rights and entitlements of Domino’s Pizza Scandinavia, which ceased operations last month.

Domino’s expects to restart in Denmark with approximately 20 stores within the next year but estimates that the country’s 5.7 million people could support about 150 stores.
