Value of mortgage lending up 1.3% in June

The value of loans to home buyers and property investors increased in June while lending to businesses contracted, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

β€œIn June we saw rises in new lending commitments for both owner-occupier and investor dwellings for the first time in over a year,” ABS analyst Ben Dorber said.

The seasonally adjusted value of new lending commitments to households increased by 1.3 per cent in June after a 1.6 per cent decline in May.
