The $300 million Rouse Hill Hospital is a step closer, with the first sod turned and early works set to commence in coming weeks.
Health Minister Brad Hazzard, together with Member for Riverstone Kevin Conolly and Member for Castle Hill Ray Williams, today celebrated the significant milestone in bringing world-class health care to Sydney’s north-west communities.
“Growing communities from Rouse Hill to North Kellyville, Castle Hill and Marsden Park will benefit immensely from having this world-class, purpose-built hospital right on their doorstep,” Mr Hazzard said.
“The NSW Liberal and National Government is investing record funding into health infrastructure, with more than $18 billion already spent since coming to government, ensuring everyone has access to the very best health care no matter where they live.”
Mr Conolly thanked the community for its valuable input into the planning and design of the state-of-the-art hospital, which features innovative care models.
“Further consultation with the community and health staff will continue in the coming months to ensure this new $300 million Rouse Hill Hospital delivers first-class services that best serve the community and health workers into the future,” Mr Conolly said.
“The hospital will embrace the latest in digital technology and models of care to meet the needs of each patient in a hospital, community and home setting.” Ford Civil has been engaged to deliver the enabling works for the hospital development, with main works construction to start following the completion of designs and planning approvals.
Mr Williams said it’s an exciting time as early works to establish the site get underway on the site, located at the corner of Commercial Road and Windsor Road.
“The community can expect to see activity on site in the coming weeks, including in-ground works with the installation of water, electricity and gas services,” Mr Williams said.
“The new Rouse Hill Hospital will complement the expanded health services at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals and Westmead Hospital, ensuring comprehensive high-quality health care throughout the north-west.”
The master plan for the hospital was released late last year, providing a first look at the building’s location and convenient access to public transport, retail and community services, as well as the potential for future expansion.
The new hospital will also embrace advanced digital technology and innovative models, including:
Emergency department with co-located urgent care centre and general practitioner services with access to pathology, pharmacy and medical imaging services
Short stay medical assessment services (up to 48 hours) for patients requiring further investigation, stabilisation and direction to an appropriate care pathway
InTouch Care which will provide healthcare connectivity across all settings including the hospital, the community and in the home
Prehabiliation, Rehabilitation and Lifestyle Medicine which delivers therapy, education and interventions that support management of chronic conditions and improving health outcomes.
Day surgery unit, outpatient care, including women’s health, antenatal and post-natal care, paediatrics, cancer care, renal dialysis, mental health, infusion centre and a multi-storey car park.

The NSW Government is investing a record $11.9 billion in health infrastructure over the four years to 2025-26. Since 2011, the NSW Government has spent more than $18 billion delivering more than 180 health capital projects across NSW, with more than 130 projects currently underway.
