The newly redeveloped Passfield Park School for Specific Purposes is officially opened by the Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell to celebrate NSW Government continual investment in all NSW students.
Passfield Park Scholl was opened to students start of Term 1 2022, fast tracked to meet the requirements of the school community. The school creates a new environment that strengthens communication and greater sense of wellbeing by providing active and passive recreational facilities for all.
Ms Mitchell said the $35 million redevelopment of Passfield Park School for Specific Purposes provides families and students with state of the art facilities to support educational outcomes of all students.
“The NSW is committed to delivering for all students no matter their location or needs, supporting them with the best education facilities; here at Passfield Park School for Specific Purposes we are doing just that,” Ms Mitchell said.
“The work of dedicated teachers and staff is so important for learning outcomes, but we also need to support this work by providing new and modern facilities.
“The redeveloped has allowed for exceptional opportunities for student with indoor sport facilities, sensory garden and a hydrotherapy pool.”
The project involved the relocation of Passfield Park School to the new school site, and delivering new facilities to maximise student learning opportunism.
The redevelopment has delivered 16 new permanent teaching spaces, a new library and a hall, new entrance and drop off area, new modern core facilities such as staff and administration areas, a new covered outdoor learning area, expanded carpark for 68 cars, and an indoor sports facility, including a hydrotherapy pool.
The NSW Government is investing $8.6 billion in school infrastructure over the next four years, continuing its program to deliver 160 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. This builds on the more than $9.1 billion invested in projects delivered since 2017, a program of $17.7 billion in public education infrastructure.
