Four confirmed omicron cases in NSW, more being investigated

New South Wales has posted a video update on today’s 179 cases and three deaths.

The vaccination rate for those 16 years and older is 94.5 per cent and 92.4 per cent for those who have received two doses. The rates are a fair degree lower for those aged 12 to 15 being 81.2 per cent have received one dose and 76.5 per cent two doses.

Two overseas travellers have been infected by the omicron variant with a total of four confirmed cases.

“Both passengers arrived in Sydney from southern Africa … they were fully vaccinated and isolating in special health accommodation,” Dr Jeremy McAnulty said. “Everyone on the flight is considered a close contact”.

“NSW Health is investigating two COVID-19 cases … who arrived on the 25th of November, both cases are isolating at their respective homes.”
