Australia’s elderly is the most vulnerable to the health effects of climate change, which will also eat into their retirement savings, a new report predicts.
The report released by the Actuaries Institute on Thursday says that heatwaves will increase significantly over the 21st century, killing many Australians and especially older ones.
The report also predicts that climate change could have long-term return implications for investors who aren’t adequately diversified, which could lead to lower superannuation balances.
